Celebrates 60! Upstart Makes Unique Contributions to the Celebration
The State of Israel
celebrated its 60th anniversary on May 8, 2008 and will continue to
celebrate throughout the year! As a salute to Israel, Upstart Ideas
spearheaded a number of initiatives to mark the anniversary and help
individuals, campuses and communities across the globe celebrate.
The initiatives included
an official web site (http://www.israelcelebrates60.com/),
distribution of a beautiful and information-packed multimedia CD ROM to
thousands of college students, the creation and distribution of a special
educational primer on Israel, the establishment of a large FACEBOOK group
celebrating Israel and the distribution of the New York Times of May 15,
1948 to 20,000 Taglit-Birthright Israel participants visiting Israel during
the 60th.
Technology for the Next Generation - A Traveling Exhibit
Upstart Ideas, in collaboration between the
Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Boston (CJP), the Israel Foreign Ministry, and Israel 21c,
spearheaded the creation of a traveling exhibit designed to show
colleges students and community members how great Israeli-developed technology
influences and impacts them in their daily lives and makes the world a
better place. Featuring some of the most successful innovations,
products and discoveries to have emerged from Israel, the exhibit
highlighted innovations from Given Imaging, M-Systems, Teva, PowerPaper and
Intel, among others. The exhibit was displayed on such prestigious
Boston-area campuses as Harvard, MIT, Tufts, Brandeis, Boston University,
Wellesley, Boston College, UMass-Amherst and Northeastern. From there, the
exhibit traveled to other American campuses throughout 2005-6 academic
year.

The Robert and Myra Kraft Passport to Israel
Program
The Myra and
Robert Kraft Passport to Israel program is the Boston
Federation's unique savings plan to help parents send their
children on a life-changing teen Israel experience. The program is designed
so that the community, the synagogue and CJP, helps families make a trip to
Israel during the high school years a reality. Upstart serves as a
senior strategic consultant to the Passport program, helping local
synagogue Passport representatives be more effective in their work. We do this
via a dedicated web site, on-site meetings in Boston and working directly
with the local representatives in Israel each summer. More

The Oranim Ambassador Program
Upstart Ideas
conceived, planned, implemented and currently manages a comprehensive viral
marketing strategy for Oranim Educational Initiative's Taglit-birthright
israel trips in the North American market called the Oranim Ambassador
program. Widely successful with thousands of Ambassadors making
tens-of-thousands of referrals each trip season, the program has been
the catalyst for Oranim's meteoric growth and success.
